Iván Angel Terceros Rodríguez (La Paz – Bolivia)

Thesis sociology student in Cybersociology. Takes militating part in Bolivia's Free Software Community . Simultaneously he develops a proyect of thesis in Cinema, is a voluntary technician in Indymedia Bolivia and works as a journalist.  

 

 About the project: The project seeks to spread the principles and values of free software as a tool of social change. To achieve this freedom of knowledge, it is necessary to postulate the conversion of the private exclusively into a public form. In that process, the project proposes the generation of a space / audiovisual broadcasting initiative to activate the dialogue and diffusion of related perspectives.

 

 

Luis Norberto Cermeño Cristancho (Bogotá-Colombia)  

Studies a master in Communication at Javeriana University, in which works on a thesis on the relationship of futurist narrative with the technological culture. Writes articles and stories in virtual media as elniuton.com, www.cinosargo.bligoo.com, litrasfalsas.com, among others.  

 

 About the project: "Contar el Futuro" (“Telling the future”) is a review of the futurist narrative grass rooted from Popular Technologies.  It arises from the question: what about the future will think a boy from a periphery area?  The project's main objective is to explore the deepness of popular technology that does not necessarily correspond to "high tech", rescuing a specific alternative for our own contexts.   

 

 

Patricio Javier Dago Toledo (Quito- Ecuador)

Degree in Fine Arts from the Central University of Ecuador.  Coordinates artistic projects in diverse contexts.  Develops projects based on a dialectic society-culture-art, involving processes that include the anthropologic, sociological, ludic, parody and humorous, handling a politic integration in the public space.

 

About the project:  The project proposes the creation of a virtual enterprise, an amalgam between the game Monopoly and Big Brother, based on social networks of internet (Hi5, Messenger, emails, youtube, etc..), that will result in products almost "artistic" with purposes of mass distribution, constructed from remakes, samplers, appropriations and alteration of information which the partners will contribute to create.  

 

 

Juan Carlos Leon Jacome (Guayaquil-Ecuador)

Student of the Licentiate in Visual Arts at Technological Institute of Arts of Ecuador. He teaches sculpture classes at the same institution.  Currently develops two projects - works in progress: CI Project (http://www.ciproyecto.blogspot.com/) and Ciudadenmonos (http://ciudadenmonos.blogspot.com/)

 

About the project: ”El Germen” (“The germ”) is a project that works with medical institutions, communal houses, kinder gardens, schools and organizations working in different types of slums, to make conscience of the importance of being born and growing in a cultural certain system, through a series of campaigns that will be camouflaged inside other campaigns.

 

 

Leonardo Armando Gonzalez Gonzalez (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) 

Fine Artist intern in the communications major at the Metropolitan University of Honduras.  He has taken part in the project "ZIP 504 - a country five-star", which was controlling the function of multures in Industrial Processing Zones (ZIP) exploring the quality of life in areas that are preponderantly industrial.

 

About the project: When someone belongs to something, the borders of the individuality do not exist.  "Mapas Mentales" (“Mental Maps”) is a project that explores the utopia and the reality of borders.  The aim of the project focuses on achieving a digital access that foments integration and active participation of rural populations in Latin America.

 


Georg Lino Von Saenger Boza (Ciudad de Panamá- Panamá)

Degree in Psychology in Paris V; also studied linguistics.  He has worked in cultural management, organizing events of contemporary art in public spaces, cultural centers and museums.  He has worked as curator appointed by Panama for the Central American Biennial.  He currently publishes the catalog on Panama's beaches, an ecological project of the association Blue Almanac.  

 

About the project: In Panama there is a sizeable Palestinian community.  Some of these groups make arrangements with very poor families in rural Panama to marry their daughters - underage generally-, with relatives in Palestine, hoping to grant them a visa to reside in Panama.  The proposal will develop the concept of a documentary about Latin-American girls in Palestine and possible for developing the project.

 

 

Karen Paola Bernedo Morales (Lima – Perú)

 Master student of visual anthropology at Pontificia Catholic university in Lima, Peru.  Founder and producer of the project "Museo Itinerante - Arte por la memoria" (“Art for Memory – Itinerary Museum”) in conjunction with an interdisciplinary collective of artists and social scientists. Producer and Co-Director of the "BIOS-workers of art."

 

About the project:  It will develop the virtual counterpart of the "Museo Itinerante - Arte por la memoria" " (“Art for Memory – Itinerary Museum”), transforming it into a living museum, virtual and cross-disciplinary, on the Internet.  The Web component considers receiving and stimulating projects and interactive dynamics of reconstruction of the collective memory in topics of political violence and internal armed conflict, opening spaces of reflection and debate.

 

 

Jazmín Gabriela Flores del Pozo (Lima-Peru)

 Visual artist who focuses her work on various issues of Peruvian society, like poverty, exclusion, identity, discrimination and others.  Currently teaches drawing and painting in Fatima's jail.  

 

About the project: The project involves the creation of a virtual environment, similar to the SIMS game, where users create an avatar and live a parallel life.  The virtual space will represent the city of Lima and its districts, and will incorporate socio-cultural common features of different areas of the local context for his characters: costumes and popular music, colloquial speeches and classifying multicultural terms from a city as Lima is. The system will look like a game but actually disclose relevant information about our cultural identity as a degree of self-acceptance, discrimination, and socio-cultural expectations.
